Seven (7) Weeks of Rehearsals Begin on Friday, September 1st.
Rehearsals are Saturdays 9 AM to 1:30 PM, Tuesdays 6 PM to 9 PM, Wednesdays 10:30 AM to 1:50 PM, and Fridays 12 Noon to 2:45 PM.
Technical and Dress Rehearsals – October 23rd and 24th.
Show Dates: October 25th, 26th, and 27th at the Savannah Center.

Grumpy Old Men – The Musical – Cast Information
John Gustafson: Male, 70+
A retired Midwestern high school history teacher. Conservative, finicky and set in his ways. Actor should have impeccable comedic skills and sing well. Jack Lemmon played this role in the film; principal.
Max Goldman: Lead, Male, 70+
A cranky retired TV repairman. He has a knack for insults and wicked practical jokes. Actor should have impeccable comedic skills and sing well. Walter Matthau played this role in the film; principal.
Ariel Truax: Female, 50-59
A beautiful, free-spirited, playful newcomer to town. She’s a college literature professor with a poetic flair, and a sensual air of mystery. Actor must have excellent comedic skills and sing and dance well. Ann-Margret played this role in the film; principal.
Jacob Goldman: plays 35-40
Max’s son. A mild-mannered Minnesota lawyer. Lonely in love and looking for a life change. Must be a strong actor and singer; principal.
Melanie Norton: Female, plays 35-40
John’s daughter. A real estate agent whose marriage is falling apart. She’s longing for a life change – and a warmer climate. Must be a strong actor and singer; principal.
Sandra Snyder: Female, plays 40-59
A nefarious tax collector. Unrelenting and by the books. Must sing and dance well; principal.
Grandpa Gustafson: Male,
To play 94. John’s geriatric father. Has a “who gives a f@#&” attitude”, a brash naughty mouth and sex on the brain; principal.
Chuck Barrels: Male, 60+
To play 69. Owns the general store/bait shop. Kind, wise and easy-going. Loves to fish and tell stories. Sings well; principal.
Punky Barrels: Female, 55+
To play 55. Chuck’s niece. A newcomer to town. Wise-cracking, obtuse and loyal; principal.
Harry: Male, 35-45
Accident-prone postman. Affable. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Tim: Male, 40-49
The town’s dubious minister. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Unis: Female, 40-49
An avid bird-watcher. Married to Tim. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Stan: Male, 50-59
A timid, brow-beaten polka champion. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Fran: Female, 50-59
Married to Stan. The domineering, self-righteous town gossip. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Karla: Female, 18-29
Owns and operates the coffee cart. Friendly and smart. Also plays a nurse. Must be a strong singer and dance well; chorus.
Bo & Lo: Male, 18-29
Young hockey players. Also play moving men and orderlies. Must be strong singers and dance well.

Leads/Supporting Roles: 3M/3W, Ensemble: 8‐12 Men and Women
Lawrence Jameson ‐ Male, 40s‐60s, Tenor. An experienced British con artist who is sophisticated, suave, and elegant. Dialects: British RP, German.
Freddy Benson ‐ Male, 20s‐30s, Tenor. A young, clever, aspiring American con artist. He is a sloppy, yet an attractive womanizer. Has a romance with Christine. Dialects: Various American, Dimwit.
Christine Colgate – Female, 20s‐40s, Mezzo‐Soprano. A seemingly good‐natured American heiress, vacationing on the French Riviera, with a huge secret. Naive and clueless at first, she becomes cunning and mischievous. Has a romance with Freddy. Dialect: General American. Vocal range: A3‐ F#5
Andre Thibault ‐ Male, 30s‐50s, Baritenor. Lawrence’s French assistant. Official and mostly serious, he has a light‐hearted nature and a quirky sense of humor. Has a romance with Muriel. Dialect: French. Vocal range: F2‐F4
Muriel Eubanks ‐ Female, 30s‐50s, Alto. A wealthy and attractive American socialite from Nebraska, she one of Lawrence’s victims and Andre’s subsequent love interest. Dialects: Omaha, Nebraska/General American. Vocal range: E3‐C5
Jolene Oakes ‐ Female, 20s‐30s, Mezzo‐Alto. An American heiress from Oklahoma and the “Princess of Petroleum,” she is very eager, optimistic, and energetic. Blend of a southern firecracker and a southern belle. Dialect: Southern (severity of drawl/”R’s” is open to discussion). Vocal range: A3‐D5
Ensemble ‐ Men & Women, Various ages, vocal ranges, and dialects. Will be playing multiple roles, such as tourists/citizens, maids/butlers/wait staff, business roles, con artist victims, and atmospheric individuals. There are multiple opportunities for featured/solo singing, dance, and dialogue moments.
